Hydro-expansive bentonite joint BENTONDAT, profile in elasticised self-adhesive sodium bentonite (the special coating is made with a transparent film that becomes adhesive when hydrated). In contact with groundwater, this joint hydrates, transforming into an impermeable gel and increasing up to 5 times its original volume.

Characteristics:

• Bentonite: 60 + 70%
• Oils: 30 + 40%

Advantages:

• Ability to swell to the maximum degree of expansion without losing consistency and thus without the risk of washing out the bentonite gel
• Delayed expansion for installation even in difficult weather conditions (minimal expansion in the first 48 hours)
• The bentonite and butyl rubber compound can come into contact with drinking water without pollution issues

Areas of application:

• Usable as a barrier against water infiltration in cracks that form in concrete due to settling or stress
• Seals construction joints and casting joints both vertically and horizontally

Warnings:

• The BENTONDAT joint cannot be used in the presence of saltwater unless rehydrated with fresh water
• Never remove the protective film from the joint
