Two-component cementitious waterproofing membrane
Two-component cementitious waterproofing membrane DATAFLEXI MIX, usable for waterproofing and protecting concrete structures, plasters, cement screeds and more. Low maintenance, no additional protections required.
Characteristics:
- Two-component, based on hydraulic binders, selected aggregates, special additives and synthetic polymers in aqueous dispersion
- Odourless, non-flammable, non-toxic and solvent-free
Advantages:
- Reduces carbonation phenomena in concrete
- Ensures perfect adhesion, suitable for complex construction details and resistant to micro-cracks
- Suitable for receiving ceramic coatings and can be applied over existing walls and floors in ceramic, marble or stone.
Areas of application:
- Creation of waterproof coatings with high flexibility, where a positive water pressure is expected as in: bathrooms, showers, balconies, terraces, swimming pools, concrete tanks, channels, pipes...
- The coating is also capable of withstanding a modest and occasional hydraulic back pressure, therefore in the case of walls against earth or concrete structures to be buried that are not positioned below the water table
- Restoration of plaster or concrete with cracks caused by hydraulic shrinkage
Instructions for Use:
- The substrate to be treated must be perfectly stable (not subject to hygrometric shrinkage or detachment of incoherent parts), free from dust, salts, greasy, oily or release substances. If the substrate is degraded, according to the designer’s prescriptions, the damaged thickness must first be removed and repaired with a suitable product. The substrate, which must receive the product, must be dry, and in the case of new substrates, wait at least one week for each centimetre of applied thickness (at temperatures of 20 °C)
- In a clean container, pour the contents of component B (liquid), then start mixing at low speed, after about a minute gradually add the pre-mixed mortar (component A). Mix for a few minutes, ensuring all dust is removed from the container walls and any lumps are eliminated. The mixture should be homogeneous and sufficiently fluid to allow easy application.
- It is not possible to manually mix the components
- The product must be applied within 45 minutes of mixing, as it quickly loses workability, especially in the warm season. In such cases, do not add water or another component B (liquid) to revive the mixture
- Apply a first layer, with a thickness of 1-2 mm, using a brush, roller or spatula, on vertical or horizontal surfaces. Wait for the first coat to be completely dry (under normal environmental conditions about 6 hours) then proceed to apply the second coat. In environments with high mechanical stresses or in the presence of numerous cracks in the substrate to be treated, it is necessary to lay an alkali-resistant glass fibre mesh (with a weight of about 150 g/m2) on the still fresh first layer. The second coat of product must perfectly cover the mesh, avoiding the formation of bubbles or voids. In waterproofing applications, a rubberised fabric band must be inserted at the expansion joints and wall-wall and wall-floor connections. The laying of tiles on the coating should be carried out after curing for about a week, depending on the climatic conditions
